One of the royal buildings we saw today was built in the 1800s in a European style, I think the tour guide said. Anyway, it was supposed to be domed on the top but when they got to the roof, they decided to put thai-style tops on it. So now the guide said that it is called a farang building with a Thai hat. There was a lot of restoration going on with the murals and temples and all. I remember mom and dad saying that there was more merit to be made building new temples versus restoring old one, but it looks like the restoration business is doing well now.
